Beware the Unlicensed & Uninsured predators A brief search for Power Washers on the web can yield a wealth of attempted fraud in progress. There are many (not all) obviously tampered with snapshots of properties allegedly before and after washing. Just a hint - if the sky and grass are lighter on the after wash shot the odds are very high the shot's been tampered with. Due to certain debris on the roof on some shots it is obvious the roof was not cleaned at all and any cleaning that took place was only done in the computer.

Does our service cost more than the predators?
Being a Professional and Honest service does not mean you'll pay more for our services. The profit is what "other" parties are after also. Lowballing doesn't work for them in most cases. They want the profits! Their method of raising their profit however, is by increasing your risk with minimal or no insurance or State of CT backing, weak chemistry and often, inadequate skill & machinery. They are trying to cash in and make a fast buck so their prices generally reflect the market within a few dollars. Once the job's finished and they're paid, they're gone. If there's a problem you are stuck with it! Those of us with legitimate companies want you to call us next year and the year after.
Our investment, time we spend cleaning your property, references and insured protections we offer you, all reflect that! But if competition's good how do the predators hurt anyone? Competition between legitimate businesses is good. The playing field is level and everyone is dealing with the same expenses and is trying to develop better, safer and more cost efficient methods to provide their service. The predator however, is a bottomfeeder who will feed off the pricing of legitimate businesses and in return afford no protection to the consumer and offer no contribution to the State or the Trade. There's so many of them operating, in some cases they dry up the market and drive legitimate business out of business. The less competition between legitimate businesses, the less likely it is that prices will be held to reasonable levels. This will also increase the future exposure of the public to the predators as there are fewer legitimate companies in operation for them to select from. Why is a Licensed Business a Better and Safer Option? There are two things that set a licensed business apart from. a Predator By registering the business and carrying insurance you are protected. They are also stating that they care about the consumer and most will offer proof of insurance on the spot. If you can't get any information, be a little investigative yourself and try these tips:
Make sure your contractor of choice is insured adequately. Preferably he is a licensed business and ask for his tax number as proof. You have to register our business to obtain a tax number. Statements of insurance coverage are also readily available from their insurance company or agent so there is no reason he should not be able to provide one for you to see.
Still not sure? Call the underwriting company and verify the policy.
If you still feel uncomfortable move on to another washing company.
In the long run it is the Businessman, the State Tax Office, the Trade and as always the Consumer, that is hurtby those who support the predator instead of legitimate businesses.
All lose, for usually less than the cost of a pizza - make sense to you?
Doesn't to us either!
